Late 19th Century German Lacquered Checkers in Original Box carved figure writing set I've never though about wearingA super handsome set of antique checkers in their original slide top box, on the underside of which with their one time owner wrote "1897" and "30 pieces." The embossed checkers, with crowns on one side and concentric rings on the other, are enameled in lush red and black, with a couple of the red ones bordering on orange. Beautiful, and in great shape, ready to play! Box: 6 3 8 x 3 x 1 9 16 t. Checkers 1 1 8 d. The "Schutz Marke" at the lower corners
